FAT of a PALC unit

Test and inspection facilities are subjected to intensive testing prior to release by the customer, usually in the sequence FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) at the manufacturer’s and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) at the customer’s site after installation in the facility. In the regulated environment of the pharmaceutical industry, this also includes the IQ/OQ/PQ system (Installation/Operational/Performance Qualification). The purpose of these extensive tests is to ensure that the system performs (in continuous operation) everything that the customer has specified before.

A short video, which you can watch on the left side below, provides a brief insight into the procedures of such tests. Here, a Track & Trace system, a PALC unit (Package Aggregation Line Controller unit) for printing and checking pharmaceutical packaging, is being tested. Take a look over our shoulder as we go about our daily work!
